One person is rescued from earthquake-shattered home

A man has been rescued from his collapsed house in Orkney following a 5.5 magnitude earthquake which rocked North West on Tuesday.
A spokesperson for the Matlosana Municipality's emergency services, Tommy Dalziel, says the man was rescued from an old house which collapsed inside following the quake, which was felt in Durban, Bloemfontein, the Eastern Cape and even as far afield as Botswana.
Dalziel says they remain on alert.
Meanwhile, Anglo Gold Ashanti says 17 employees were injured at two of its mines in North West.
Spokesperson, Chris Nthite, says early indications are that 17 of their employees at the Great Noligwa and Moab Khotsong mines suffered minor injuries.
One person was reportedly killed when a wall collapsed.
