One suspect has been arrested following a dramatic shootout between several armed robbers, security guards and police in Fourways in Johannesburg.
Police say three men robbed a store in a nearby mall early on Wednesday morning when they were spotted by security guards.
A shoot-out ensued as they fled into rush hour traffic and passing police joined the chase.
The robbers reportedly crashed into a taxi causing massive congestion on William Nicol Drive.
Police say one suspect was arrested while an automatic weapon and several stolen items were recovered.
