The National Union of Metalworkers of South Africa says it will protest against Eskom's proposed 16% electricity increase.
Numsa secretary Irvin Jim says shop stewards plan to picket at the 9 provincial hearings that the National Energy Regulator will hold between now and the end of January.
He said that if Eskom's application succeeded, it would result in job losses and general price increases.
Jim said Eskom should consider inflation-related and not double-digit increases.
