The National Union of Mineworkers says its horrified at the rape and murder of a female miner whose body was found in Anglo Platinum's Khomanani mine in Rustenburg.
NUM spokesperson, Lesiba Seshoka, says the identity of the woman, who was found yesterday, has not yet been revealed.
He says the union is horrified at what he described as a barbaric act, this after it was negotiated that woman could work underground.
Seshoka has called on law enforcement agencies to leave no stone unturned.
