Northern Cape premier collapses in legislature

Northern Cape premier Hazel Jenkins collapsed while delivering her state-of-the-province address in Kimberley, officials from her office said.

Jenkins was rushed to hospital by paramedics, but it was not immediately clear where she was taken for treatment.

The premier was about 30 minutes into her speech in the provincial legislature when she collapsed.

The sitting was postponed.
