Police are still on the hunt for the killers of an elderly man who was murdered on his farm near Bethlehem in the Free State.
Seventy Seven year old Doctor Hein Smith from the farm "Rondekom" was found near his house on Sunday.
It is believed that he was attacked on Saturday evening, when he returned home after visiting friends.
Netcare 911 says he was critically injured when paramedics arrived at the scene.
En route to hospital, the man's condition deteriorated and paramedics started with resuscitation procedures.
He passed away, shortly after arrival at the hospital.
