Six people were killed and nine others injured, after a taxi overturned on the N3 south near the Jacobs off ramp in Heidelberg, Gauteng on Sunday evening.
Netcare 911's Chris Botha says the six died on impact.
He says three people are in a critical condition and six sustained serious injuries.
Botha says the critically injured were airlifted to the Charlotte Maxeke hospital in Johannesburg.
Meanwhile, three people have been killed in an accident, also on the N3, near Warden in the Free State.
ER24's Werner Vermaak says a car collided with a heavy goods vehicle on Sunday afternoon.
He says two men and a woman travelling in the car died at the scene.
Vermaak says a child was critically injured and rushed to hospital.
