Parliament’s Powers and Privileges committee has agreed to call witnesses in the disciplinary case against 20 EFF MP's.
The MP's are charged with disrupting proceedings during President Jacob Zuma’s question time in the national assembly.
The EFF MP's face 50 charges between them, including suspension.
The party, however, is not represented in the committee because it walked out of the committee earlier this month calling it a Kangaroo Court.
Other opposition parties threatened to do the same on Wednesday after the ANC argued that calling witnesses, including Speaker of Parliament Baleka Mbete, was not necessary.
After adjourning to thrash the matter out behind closed doors shortly before lunch, the committee reconvened just before six Wednesday night to announce its decision to call witnesses after all.
