New immigration legislation requiring people to produce unabridged birth certificates for travelling children, kicks in on Monday
Parliament's portfolio committee on Home Affairs says it views the regulations as a tool to deal with the rising international threat of child trafficking.
However, the Committee says it remains cognisant of the teething challenges that might arise due to the implementation of these new regulations - especially to the tourism industry.
The regulations have been criticised by the tourism sector which says the new requirements will hamper rather than help tourism to the country.
