The police in Thaba Nchu in the Free State have opened an inquest docket following the mysterious death of six family members.
Police spokesperson, Thandi Mbambo, says the bodies were discovered on Wednesday after an employee of a hardware store reported that he had not seen his employer for the past 10 days.
The deceased are between the ages of three and 44-years-old and believed to be foreign nationals from the Democratic Republic of Congo.
Mbambo says when police arrived at the family's home, no physical injuries were seen on the bodies. A post-mortem will be conducted to determine the cause of death and investigations continue.
