An inquest has been launched into an apparent murder-suicide after a couple was found dead at a farm near Kimberley on Monday.
Police spokesperson Olebogeng Tawana said the couple were caretakers of the farm and were last seen on Sunday.
Tawana says one of the farm employees became concerned when he arrived on the farm and saw no sign of the couple.
He immediately alerted the farm owner who arrived and contacted the police.
Police broke down the door and discovered the wife’s body in a chair in the kitchen with a gunshot wound.
The firearm was found next to the husband’s body.
