Modimolle Monster smiles for first time after seeing daughter in court

Seven state witnesses have been called to testify in the trial of Johan Kotze and his three co-accused.
One of them is Kotze's 18 year old daughter, Jo-Marie.

With all different versions now submitted to the court, there are 3 more days set down for the trial.

Johan Kotze is accused of orchestrating the gang rape of his former wife Ina Bonette, and murdering his stepson Conrad, 19, in his rented home in Modimolle in January.

Kotze smiled for the first time in 10 months, after seeing his daughter even though she was called in to testify against him.

Jo-Marie testified how her father had always tried to protect her from his marital problems, however it was only when his one time friend and former confidant, Dirk van der Merwe started testifying that Kotze's frustration was evident.

He testified how manipulative and controlling Kotze was during the week of the attack, while Kotze shook his head smiling at his former friends recollection.

Kotze and his 3 co-accused Andries Sithole, Pieta Mohlane and Frans Mphaka all pleaded not guilty.
