Aids activist Zachie Achmat says he will surrender his ANC membership if President Jacob Zuma is given a second term as party leader.
Achmat, founder of the Treatment Action Campaign and currently also a champion for farmworkers' rights, has told Beeld that Zuma is robbing the country blind.
Meanwhile, former ANC Youth League president Julius Malema has criticised his successor, Ronald Lamola, calling him a "traitor" and "sellout".
Lamola said the youth league would support the outcome of the ANC national elective conference in Mangaung regardless of who wins.
