Missing student found dead

 A Midrand student reported missing earlier this month, has been found dead.

Gauteng newspapers are reporting on Friday that the decomposed body of 19-year-old Philisande Ngum was found in the veld in President Park in Midrand on Wednesday.

The cause of death is not known yet and no arrests have been made.

Ngum was a student at the Midrand Graduate Institution and her mother Catherine had reportedly paid R1 500 ransom to a man who called using her daughter's cellphone.

The money was deposited into Ngum's account.
