A 61-year-old man from the Western Cape who was reported missing by his wife on the 12th of May has been found.
Police spokesperson Captain FC van Wyk says Patrick Xhibu from Prince Alfred Hamlet was found after an extensive search lasting eight days.
He says Xhibu was found in the mountains, hungry and dehydrated.
The local Crime Prevention Unit and detectives in conjunction with the SAPS Airwing searched the mountains on foot as the area could not be accessed with vehicles.
Captain van Wyk said their efforts paid off on Monday.
Xhibu was airlifted to a nearby hospital for medical care.
Police did not elaborate as to where Xhibu was going and why he got lost.
