Miss SA organisation accused of making U-turn on Israel boycott

Miss SA 2021 Lalela Mswane

Miss South Africa organisation

The Human rights organisation Africa4Palestine has accused the Miss SA organisation of being divided in their stance over their participation in the upcoming Miss Universe Pageant to be held in Israel in December.

The Miss SA organisation confirmed yesterday that Lalela Mswane will take part in the pageant and said that it was her childhood dream to wear this crown to represent her country.

Africa4Palestine said they were reliably informed that Miss SA was going to boycott the pageant, but this has now been labelled as fake news.

They accused the Miss SA organisation of making a U-turn in their decision and said it left them with no choice now but to embark on a vigilant campaign including protest action.

Africa4Palestine wants the Miss Universe pageant to be boycotted due to Israel's so-called apartheid policies that are well documented by Amnesty International.

The Miss SA organisation reiterated that they do not engage in politics as the pageant was not a politically inspired event.
