Harmony Gold says a joint investigation will be conducted with the department of mineral resources into an underground fire at a mine near Carletonville.
486 mine employees were returned to the surface safely after a fire broke out at the Kusa-salethu gold mine on Sunday.
Harmony CEO, Graham Briggs, said the're extremely grateful that all the workers were brought to the surface.
No injuries or deaths were reported but employees will be sent for observation.
