'Maties' building on fire

A fire has broken out on the Stellenbosch University campus on Sunday morning.

According to reports on social media platform, Twitter, the blaze engulfed the Van Der Sterr building, which houses the Accounting and Statistics departments.

Fire fighters were trying to bring the blaze under control.

It's unclear what caused the fire.

No reports of casualties have been received.
