Miss South Africa Mia Le Roux says she has given it her all in her preparations ahead of the 73rd Miss Universe pageant to be held in Mexico, on the 16th of November.
A farewell ceremony was held for Le Roux at the Maslow Hotel in Sandton where she showcased some of the special outfits created for her to wear at the pageant.
As the first hearing-impaired crown holder, she will continue promoting inclusivity in several projects.
In this year's pageant 11 countries will participate for the very first time and with the pageant changing its rules over the past four years there are no longer any height, weight or age restrictions with 7 mothers competing and 15 married women eyeing the crown.
South Africa has won the crown three times in the pageant's 73-year history.
Margeret Gardener first won the crown in 1978, followed by Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters in 2017 and then, the longest reigning Miss Universe due to Covid-19, Zozibini Tunzi who won in 1019.
Here is hoping Mia, who is already an early favourite, makes it the fourth.
