Durban fire fighters battled for 24 hours to bring a massive fire at a warehouse in Rossburgh under control.
The eThekwini fire department said however that the fire was still burning.
eThekwini chief fire commander, Enoch Mchunu, said Saturday morning that they have also reduced the number of fighters from around 150 to 80 who are still on scene.
He said that business and roads that were closed immediate vicinity have since been reopened.
"I can safely say that by this time there should be no problem in terms of the immediate industrial activity. We closed them down last night (Fri) as a precaution. At 4am we opened the road that we closed so there is free flow of traffic," he said.
Mchunu said industries in the vicinity can continue with their business as "there is no immediate danger".
