The man police believe may be behind the break-in at the offices of the Chief Justice is being questioned by police this weekend.
Nkosinathi Msimango handed himself over to authorities at the Boschkop police station in Johannesburg on Friday in the company of his legal representative.
Police spokesperson, Colonel Athlenda Mathe, said Msimango has been arrested and "is undergoing further questioning".
She said the probe into the break-in is continuing.
Earlier, Acting Police Commissioner Khomotso Phahlane, said Msimango could provide them with valuable information on the break-in which happened shortly after the Constitutional Court judgement in the social grant payment saga.
Fifteen computers containing the sensitive information of judges were stolen.
According to News 24 Msimango had denied any involvement in the robbery.
