Mango flights for R1.00

Low cost airline, Mango, is offering flights for just R1.00 in June and July.

The catch, if you can call it that, is that the second leg is priced normally and excludes taxes third party charges.

According to Mango's Hein Kaiser, the only thing you have to do to book your flight at the bargain basement price, is to download their latest, upgraded mobile app.

Mango became the first domestic airline to offer flight bookings and payments on the go last year and, the updated release offers a host of additional features. "Not only will Guests be able to check in for their domestic flights via the app but air travel has become even more accessible with the introduction of the majority our payment methods via the app, including Edgars and Jet account cards and Voyager Miles," says CEO Nico Bezuidenhout. Debit transfers are at this time not activated through Mango's mobile apps. Guests are also able to register and save details with push notifications keeping consumers abreast of special offers and airline news.

Innovation continues to drive Mango's commercial impetus and the airline plans to further enhance its mobile and social media platforms over time. "Soon paperless boarding passes will become the norm rather than the exception," says Bezuidenhout. He adds that the business is presently examining all processes in order to reinvent and ease its Guest experience. "Mango relentlessly pursues constant and never ending improvement, making it as easy as possible to do business with us."

Mango apps for Android, Apple and Blackberry 10 are available through all platform app stores and must be downloaded and used to participate in the R 1 sale. The offer is not available on Mango's website nor through its call centre.
