Mandela recovering after operation

Former President Nelson Mandela had gallstones removed on Saturday morning and is recovering from the successful procedure.

Presidency spokesperson, Mac Maharaj says the medical team decided to attend to a lung infection before determining when to attend to the gallstones.

He says doctors gave no indication when he would be discharged.

94-year old Madiba was flown to a Pretoria hospital from his home in Qunu, in the Eastern Cape on the 8th of December.
