A 45-year-old man died in a stampede in KwaZulu Natal this week when a large group of people stormed a local liquor store in Mariannhill.
Police say members of the local community stormed the store on Monday after they got wind of alcohol being dumped outside.
It’s understood the alcohol had expired and had been placed outside while waiting for disposal.
KZN police spokesperson Thembeka Mbele says public order police together with local police dispersed the rowdy crowd and during the
stampede, a 45-year-old man died at the scene.
