One person was killed and another injured in two separate fires in Johannesburg on Sunday morning.
Johannesburg emergency services spokesperson, Robert Mulaudzi says a shack caught fire in an informal settlement in Protea South, Soweto.
He says a man, who was alone in the shack when it caught fire, was declared dead at the scene.
Earlier, a fire broke out in a block of flats in Hillbrow, in the Johannesburg city centre.
Mulaudzi says the fire broke out on the sixth floor, but was later extinguished.
He says a man was admitted to hospital, after he jumped from the second floor of the building.
