A man was killed and two others sustained moderate injuries when their vehicle crashed down an embankment into the parking lot of a hardware store in Johannesburg.
ER 24 said the accident happened on Saturday morning when a bakkie crashed through the barriers of the N12 highway and landed in the parking lot.
Spokesperson Werner Vermaak said that the driver of the vehicle and another occupant were treated for moderate injuries before being taken to hospital.
A third person was "declared dead on the scene".
Police are investigating a case of culpable homicide.
