A man handed himself over to KwaZulu-Natal police on Monday for the murders of two National Freedom Party councillors earlier this year.
Colonel Vincent Mdunge says the 56-year-old man arrived at the Greytown police station of his own free will and was detained.
He is expected to appear in the Msinga Magistrate's Court on Wednesday.
The 52-year-old Bongani Tshelembe was shot dead on the first of May and 46-year-old Isaac Nhlebela was killed on the 6th of July.
Twenty Two NFP members have been killed since the party was formed in January 2011.
