The body of a man was found trapped in his overturned car off Verena Road in Witbank in Mpumalanga on Friday afternoon, more than a week after the accident was believed to have occurred.
ER24 spokesman Russel Meiring said paramedics were called by police who attended the scene.
“Paramedics arrived on [the] scene to find a light motor vehicle lying on its roof in a small river down a large embankment. On inspection, paramedics found the body of a man lying inside the vehicle. It was apparent that the man had been dead for some time.
“According to [the] SAPS [SA Police Service], it is believed that the vehicle had been lying in the river for roughly two weeks,” Meiring said.
