Kimberley police arrested a woman who was found in the possession of drugs worth over R500 000.
A spokesperson said she was arrested on Thursday after police followed a bakkie to Galeshewe, where the vehicle was stopped in front of a local day hospital.
The male driver jumped out and fled the scene, leaving the 38-year-old woman behind.
Police said the bakkie was searched and they found "23 bags of normal and high-grade dagga" as well as more than 3 700 Mandrax tablets, with an estimated street value of R550 000.
The woman, who originally hails from Kwazulu Natal, will appear in court in Kimberley soon.
