A 38-year-old man from Chatsworth in Durban is expected to make his second court appearance on Tuesday for allegedly posting pictures of a woman on a sex website.
Police spokesperson Captain Nqobile Gwala says Mohamed Hoosen was arrested a month ago after being positively linked to the crime.
She says Hoosen is being charged with criminal defamation, intimidation and extortion.
It is alleged that in August 2020, the victim received information that her photographs were posted on a sex website.
Captain Gwala says the woman was left traumatised after being inundated with phone calls, emails and social media messages from people offering their services.
The investigating officer further established that Hoosen also posted pictures of relatives and people who were close to the complainant.
Hoosen is currently out on bail of R5 000.
