A man accused of illegally manufacturing gambling machines has been granted bail of R3000 in the Mmabatho Magistrates Court.
The 25-year-old Zehao Zehong has been in custody since his arrest on the 25th of August in Mahikeng.
Police Spokesperson Captain Tlangelani Rikhotso says Zehong was arrested in a joint operation involving several departments including the gambling board, Department of Home Affairs and the Hawks.
The accused is being charged under Section 60 and 82 of the Gambling Act after 59 gambling machines, several gambling-related equipment, and cash was seized from his house.
Rikhotso says when police searched his house they also found Pangolin and Python's skins and an additional charge of contravening the Environmental Management-Biodiversity Act was added.
Zehong was released on bail on Tuesday after spending just over two months behind bars.
The case was remanded to the 17th of January 2020 for further investigation.
