A 41-year-old man is expected to appear in the Bloemfontein Magistrates Court on Thursday following his arrest for the possession of counterfeit bank notes.
Police spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Thabo Covane says the information was gathered on suspicion that fake currency notes were being manufactured at a given address.
He says members of the Metro Tactical Response Team were mobilised and a unit inside a building was searched on Tuesday afternoon.
Covane says in one of the rooms they found counterfeit US Dollar notes inside a drawer.
The suspect was questioned about the origin of the notes but could not give a satisfactory explanation and was subsequently arrested.
