A man has been arrested in connection with a shooting in Reiger Park on the East Rand in which a reported gang leader was shot and killed and his girlfriend injured.
Police said the 27-year-old man was arrested shortly after last night's shooting.
This was the second shooting on the East Rand following a similar attack on a couple in Edenvale on Wednesday.
A man was shot dead and his wife seriously injured when three balaclava-clad men opened fire on their vehicle.
Police declined to comment on speculation that the shootings were gang-related.
