A man has been arrested for the murder of a Cape Town traffic officer.
Steenberg police caught the 26-year-old, from Parkwood Estate, and confiscated two firearms on Thursday.
Police Captain FC van Wyk says one of the guns belonged to slain traffic officer 35-year-old Wesley Woodman.
Woodman and a motorist were shot dead in the Lavender Hill area on Wednesday.
The officer had stopped a car for a broken tail light, when the killer approached him from behind and opened fire.
The motorist, who was out on bail on a murder charge, died at the scene and Woodman died in hospital later that day.
