A man accused of stabbing to death his mother and twin sister in the Lwandle township in the Strand, appeared in the Strand District Court for the third time on Monday.
Vuyo Dondashe, 22, appeared before Magistrate Karen Scheepers.
He was remanded to Thursday, February 23, when his legal aid lawyer is to bring an application for him to be referred for 30 days psychiatric assessment, by a panel of psychiatrists.
The recommendation for his referral was made after he had been assessed overnight by a district surgeon.
His three court appearances follow his recent arrest at the Strand, by a traffic inspector who found him walking in the street still carrying the knife he is alleged to have used in the attack.
