Embattled ANC Youth Leage leader, Julius Malema, has thrown down the gauntlet to the ANC.
Speaking at the Youth League's lekgotla this morning, Malema criticised the ruling party's disciplinary process, saying that he was sanctioned for expressing what the League, at its last Congress, had mandated him to say.
Malema said the disciplinary process was politically motivated and aimed at resolving political struggles and battles in the ANC.
He said some in the ANC believe that by removing certain leaders of the Youth League they will successfully suppress and undermine the league's political struggle, particularly on issues of nationalisation and expropritation of land without compensation.
Malema said those ANC leaders think that by removing the leadership of the ANC Youth League they will be guaranteed re-election into positions of leadership.
