ANC Youth League President Julius Malema was expelled from the ANC and from the ANC Youth League last night and has 14 days to appeal.
Malema was not at the Luthuli House headquarters yesterday afternoon, as requested, to receive his verdict.
In a statement sent out by the National Disciplinary Committee, chairperson Derek Hanekom announced that Malema's mitigation of sentence had been unsuccessful.
Meanwhile: Limpopo police report that shots were fired outside Malema's home in Seshego last night after it was announced that he had been expelled from the ANC and the ANC Youth League.
