The SA National Defence Force has denied a report that former president Nelson Mandela's medicine was on board the military aircraft that crashed in the Drakensberg on Wednesday.
SANDF head of communications Siphiwe Dlamini has also not entertained claims that Mandela's medical team refused to board the plane out of safety fears.
These claims were made in a statement by the SA Security Forces Union, a trade union which was deregistered by the defence department last year.
The aircraft went missing en route to Mthatha after it took off from Waterkloof Air Force Base in Pretoria on Wednesday.
The wreckage was found on Thursday and none of the 11 people on board survived the crash.
