Long arm of the law catches up with alleged cop killer

Kwazulu Natal police have arrested a 24-year-old man for the murder a policeman in 2018.

Hawks spokesperson, Colonel Katlego Mogale, said the suspect was arrested on Tuesday at a house near Copesville in Pietermaritzburg.

The operation was carried out by the Hawks and other police units following a tip-off.

She said that he was detained for questioning relating to the killing of Sergeant Thembinkosi Buthelezi in September 2018 as well as other criminal cases in the area.

The Hawks are investigating the matter further.
