Western Cape police are still looking for a twin baby boy who was kidnapped in Parow last week.
Spokesperson Colonel Andre Traut says the alleged kidnapper is a woman who presented herself as a social worker.
He says on the 15th of January the suspect approached the mother of the two-month-old twins at her house in Khayelitsha, pretending to be a social worker.
The woman asked for the baby's birth certificate and clinic card so that she could make copies.
Traut says the so-called social worker returned the next day to accompany the mother and her two babies to her office in town.
He says when the taxi stopped, the suspect jumped out with one of the babies and fled on foot.
The circumstances surrounding the kidnapping of the child are being investigated.
