A 48-year-old Limpopo mother remains in police custody following her arrest for allegedly decapitating her 18-year-old son who is wheelchair-bound.
Spokesperson for the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) Mashudu Malabi-Dzhangi says Stephina Sefekwane Chuene, appeared before the Polokwane Magistrate's Court twice this week.
She says the case against Chuene was postponed to the 16th of May.
According to police, Chuene was arrested a week ago after the victim's body was found in his wheelchair next to a local tavern with his head lying next to it on the ground.
Police said when they arrived there was nobody at the crime scene, however, a knife was seized.
SAPS soon located Chuene and arrested her for the murder of her son.
Provincial Police Commissioner of Limpopo Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe said she was deeply shocked by the incident.
Neither the police nor the NPA have identified the deceased.
The motive for the murder is unknown.
