Lawyers agree to help find lookalikes for ID parade

Lawyers for the five men accused of beating a rugby fan to death after a Sharks match in Durban have agreed to help find 25 look-alikes for an identity parade.

The lawyers have agreed to the unusual request by the State in a bid to speed up the holding of the identity parade and their client's chances of being released.

The five men, who appeared in the Durban Magistrate's Court yesterday, are accused of beating 29 Brett Williams to death outside Kingspark Rugby Stadium last month.

Four of them are being held on a murder charge ahead of their next court appearance and an identity parade on Monday.

The fifth suspect, who was released on 2-thousand rand bail, faces one charge of assault with intent to commit grievous bodily harm and one charge of crimen injuria.
