A 23-year-old woman appeared in the Pinetown Magistrates Court on Monday after she confessed to killing her baby.
Spokesperson Captain Nqobile Gwala says the crying woman came rushing into the KwaDabeka police station on the 13th of March to inform the police that she had killed her baby.
She says the mother told officers that she killed her three-month-old baby girl by suffocating her with a blanket
Police accompanied the woman to her place of residence where they found the body wrapped n a blanket with her dummy still in her mouth.
The mother was charged with murder and remanded in custody until the 23rd of March.
