Limpopo becomes latest province with positive Covid-19 case


The number of confirmed coronavirus cases in South Africa has risen to 62.

Health Minister Dr Zweli Mkhize says they have more possible positive tests that need to be verified.

He says Limpopo also now has a confirmed case of Coronavirus.

It is a 29-year-old doctor who travelled to France.

Gauteng recorded seven more cases, all people who travelled to countries such as the USA, Spain, India, Austria, Dubai and Mexico.

The patients are between the ages of 30 and 68.

Mkhize says in the Western Cape, two new cases have been reported with the youngest being a 15-year-old teenager who travelled to France.

Mpumalanga also recorded their second case.

Minister Mkhize says two cases of local transmission were presented to the National Institute of Communicable Diseases (NICD) and it is currently under investigation.

To date, no cases have been reported in the Free State, Eastern Cape, North West or in the Northern Cape.
