A 39-year-old KwaZulu-Natal man is due in court on Monday after being found in possession of a memory stick filled with child pornography at the weekend.
Colonel Jay Naicker says the Pinetown Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offenses Unit conducted an intensive investigation after they received information of a man who was in possession of child pornography.
Naicker says the investigation led police to arrest the 39-year-old man in Pietermaritzburg to where he had relocated.
Investigations began in August 2014 when police obtained a warrant to search the suspect’s residence in Old Main Road, Kloof, where they found the memory stick containing child pornography with victims as young as three-years-old.
Naicker says the investigation completed, police were able to formally arrested the suspect yesterday and charge him with possession of child pornography and contravening the Film and Publications Act.
