There was a heavy police presence outside the Vredenburg Magistrates Court on Monday, ahead of the appearance of four people linked to the disappearance of Joslin Smith.
The accused, which include Joslin's mother Kelly, her boyfriend Jacques Appolis and two others, Steveno Van Rhyn and Lorentia Lombard face charges of trafficking in persons for purposes of exploitation, as well as kidnapping.
Its been five months since the six-year-old's disappearance.
The search for Joslin included probing a Panamanian ship in Wales, which left Saldanha Bay shortly after her disappearance.
The state has since received cell phone data that they are busy analysing, without divulging how many phones they had and to whom they belonged to.
A highly pregnant Kelly arrived at court with her co-accused where the matter was postponed to the 16th of September.
