A teenager was killed while standing on the roof of a train in Roodepoort in Gauteng on Friday.
ER24's Werner Vermaak says they were told that the boy had been standing on the top of the train near Maraisburg.
He says local services were suspended in order for rescuers to gain access to the top of the train, and upon assessment, they found that there was nothing that they could do for him.
Vermaak says the boy was declared dead by paramedics, and he was later removed from the roof.
He says the circumstances surrounding his death will be investigated by local authorities.
