No arrests have yet been made in connection with the murder of former Lions rugby player Johan Kemp.
Gauteng police spokesperson, Lt-Col Lungelo Dlamini says the investigation is still ongoing.
Kemp was shot three times in the upper body by burglars, who broke into his house in Randburg, Johannesburg, in the early hours of Thursday morning.
Kemp's wife, Elaine, was also threatened by the burglars, and their two sons, aged two and four, were unharmed.
Dlamini says it is not known how the burglars entered the house as there was no sign of forced entry and the dogs did not bark.
