An IT Manager at one of SA's mobile network providers has been arrested for alleged fraud and corruption in a tender scam worth R64 million.
The 44-year-old man was arrested in Germiston earlier this week and will make his first appearance in court on Friday.
Hawks spokesperson Captain Lloyd Ramovha says the suspect, who is a former executive, was part of a group who scammed the mobile provider out of millions.
He says the man allegedly worked with a director of a contracted entity responsible for IT and network services at his workplace, to inflate invoices during the period between 2012 and 2019.
More arrests are expected.
