The Independent Electoral Commission said it remained committed to finalising the results of the election expeditiously with, 89.8% of the results now completed.
In its update on Wednesday evening, the IEC said at the level of capturing, 99.3% of the results were already in the system awaiting scanning and auditing.
CEO, Sy Mamabolo said the completion rate in the Northern Cape was 99.8%, in the Eastern Cape the completion rate was 93.2%, Western Cape 88.8%, Mpumalanga 91.6%, Gauteng 90.7%, and the Free State was at 98.6%.
He said the completion rate in the rest of the provinces ranged between 83.9% and 88%.
The Commission said it was also taking care to ensure that all necessary verifications were enforced.
“The number of completed municipalities now stands 177 out of a total of 257,” Mamabolo said.
